WHAT I DO WHEN I’M HAVING A BAD MENTAL HEALTH DAY
I started suffering with my Mental Health back in 2018 after the birth of my son. It was a traumatic experience which developed into PTSD. Fast forward to 2020 and I suffered a devastating Missed Miscarriage of our second baby, this definitely re triggered my PTSD. So whilst I am not an expert in Mental Health, I have had my fair share of ‘bad days’ and want to share what I do to get through those days. I have to admit that some days I don’t do anything and that is still okay too. One of the first things I make sure I do is make a banging breakfast. Something…

Mum life, it’s crazy, hectic, we never have time for ourselves and we always have to do everything super quick. That’s why I’ve created this post, it’s all about simple and easy Mum outfits you can throw on but still look like you’ve spent forever getting ready! I don’t know about you, but I always feel better when I look good. So let’s dive straight in, outfit number 1 is probably one of my favourite go to Mum outfits. Do you have a white shirt in your wardrobe or a fake collar maybe?! Stick it under a sweatshirt with faux leather trousers and boots! Sometimes I think just wearing a…
How to support someone going through Miscarriage
Miscarriage and Baby Loss is such a taboo subject and this results in sometimes the wrong thing being said to someone who is going through it. It’s ridiculous that it’s taboo because it happens to 1 in 4 of us. The aim of writing this blog post is to create awareness. The more posts we have on this heartbreaking subject, the more support those going through Miscarriage can receive. I want to start by saying that 9 times out of 10, people giving ‘support’ do not purposely intend to cause upset. It is the lack of understanding or knowledge when it comes to Miscarriage. Or it is because you just…
MY MISSED MISCARRIAGE EXPERIENCE
This is not the blog post I had prepared, from 10th August up until 1st October 2020 I had been writing a blog post all about the first 12 weeks of my pregnancy. I spoke about how it had triggered my PTSD (from Reuben’s birth). However unfortunately this is a story with a very, very sad ending. Please do close this page if reading about miscarriage triggers you. On Thursday 24th September, just before I went to bed, I noticed a small amount of very pale pink blood when I wiped. I text my midwife (who was actually on annual leave, so I didn’t hear back). I went to work…
QUICK AND EASY ELF ON THE SHELF IDEAS
It’s that time of year when crazy parents think it’s a ‘good’ idea to move a toy elf around the house from the 1st December until 24th December, causing chaos and mess everywhere! This is actually the first year of doing it (why have I started this?!) and I thought I’d share some of the easy & quick things ‘Bernie the Elf’ has been up to. So Bernie arrived on the 1st December, with a note explaining why he was here, advent calendars for us all & he’d set the table to join him for breakfast. (excuse the stickers on the table, nowhere is safe from Reuben’s love of them)…
TOMMYS X ONE STRONG MUMMA
This collaboration is very, very close to my heart. If you haven’t heard of Tommys, let me give you a brief explanation as to what they do. “We fund research into miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth, and provide pregnancy health information to parents. We believe it is unacceptable that one in four women lose a baby during pregnancy or birth. We want every parent to have the best possible pregnancy outcomes and to take home happy, healthy babies”. (Taken from https://www.tommys.org/our-organisation/about-us) In August 2020, I found out I was pregnant with my second baby, very much planned and loved. At the beginning of October at 11 weeks and 3 days…
