This collaboration is very, very close to my heart. If you haven’t heard of Tommys, let me give you a brief explanation as to what they do.
“We fund research into miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth, and provide pregnancy health information to parents. We believe it is unacceptable that one in four women lose a baby during pregnancy or birth. We want every parent to have the best possible pregnancy outcomes and to take home happy, healthy babies”. (Taken from https://www.tommys.org/our-organisation/about-us)
In August 2020, I found out I was pregnant with my second baby, very much planned and loved. At the beginning of October at 11 weeks and 3 days pregnant, I heard the words NO parent ever wants to hear. “I’m really sorry Naomi, there is no heartbeat”. I became 1 in 4, a crappy club to be in. It honestly was a complete shock because I already had a very healthy pregnancy with Reuben (my 3 year old). I don’t think you can ever just get over something like this, no matter what gestation your baby got to. You are allowed to feel grief and loss, don’t ever forget that.
So cue the idea of creating something for the One Strong Mumma brand that could comfort those who have beautiful angel babies in the sky that they are so brave and still amazing Strong Mummas. This was also a great way of raising money and awareness of this very sensitive subject that is rarely talked about. It should be talked about more so that Mum’s who are going through this horrific journey do not feel so alone.
I’m donating £5 from every single sale of the ‘Baby B’ embroidered design to Tommys. I donate once a month/once every 2 months depending on how many orders have been placed in that time.
Thank you to every single person who has supported this collaboration! In memory of Baby B 09/10/2020 <3 x
‘BABY B’ SWEATSHIRT
As you may (or may not) be aware, I found out I’d had a Missed Miscarriage at 11 weeks pregnant. Whilst I am emotionally getting through the grief and loss, I decided I wanted to do something to honour our Baby B (hence the name of the sweatshirt).
As many people do, I did a lot of researching on the internet about Miscarriages, trying to make sense of what was happening and spent a lot of time on Tommy’s
Tommy’s is a charity that funds research into miscarriage, stillbirth & premature birth. You can read more about all the amazing work on their website (I’ve linked it above). They also give a lot of support to Families who are going through this.
I will be donating £5 from every sale of the Baby B’s sweatshirt directly to Tommy’s.
What is the meaning of this Sweatshirt?! The sweatshirt is embroidered on the left chest area in your colour choice. Baby B gained Angel wings and is now flying around heaven being a super shining star. I hand drew the Angel Wings around the ‘One Strong Mumma’ to represent this. I know 1 in 4 of us go through this and I wanted to honour those babies who are gone too soon. You are still a Strong Mumma even if your baby isn’t physically with you.
